This is me on my graduation day, June 2014.
I'm Diane Woodrow. I moved to Abergele in February 2016 with my husband of nine years, Ian, our dog Renly, our cat Damson and were followed in June by our rabbit, Archie. I have two grown up children; a daughter in London and a son who joined the army in October 2017
Before having children I travelled extensively in UK and Europe, being privileged to live in many different cultures. In fact now I am here in Wales I have manged have a permanent address the four countries that make up the United Kingdom; England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
Having children slowed me down a bit but not much. We were very transient, travelling around Britain. I home schooled them both until they reach the age for tertiary education. My daughter has since gone on to complete a degree course.
I was a single mum for over 10 years and married Ian in 2007, twelve months before finishing home schooling. So within the time Ian and I have been married I have experienced many changes, not just in becoming a wife, but stopping home schooling, children flying the nest, as well as a series of untimely deaths.
I completed a BA (Hons) in History and Creative Writing in 2014 and as you can see from my qualifications I have not been idle since. I love learning and I love encouraging others to learn explore and find what they really would love to do no matter how old they are.
I am enjoying the slower pace of life of living in Abergele and love walking my dog along the beach most mornings.
